Sketch Challenge 239 & CTD#53

Happy Wednesday!
Another just crazy, crazy day! LOL
My day started off at 5:45am. so I came down to my stamp room and got started on today's SCS Sketch Challenge & the Color Throwdown Challenge. As usual I combined both on today's card....I just didn't have time after that to get it posted. The Dr office called with an appt. for the Urologist. We had to rush to get breakfast, showered and out the door to get there on time! Got there, did all the paperwork, then waited 40 mins to see the Dr which by the way was the same Urologist he had before for his kidney stones. Ok, Dr went over the radiologist's report, checked Shawn's urine sample and gave us the news that his stone IS passable! OK, so he changed his pain meds to some really heavy duty la-la land stuff and also gave him another med that is usually given to men with prostate problems to better help urine flow. Hummm....Not till we got home did Shawn really question this and decided he was dead set against taking this because after researching it, people have ran into some serious affects from it. He is gonna push lots of fluids & take the pain meds and try to pass it the normal way. However, the Dr said that if he becomes extremely miserable....pain, nausea and just not able to function and still hasn't passed the stone, he is to contact him right away and they will take the stone out. At this point he is to return to see this Dr in 3 weeks. Ok, so I can understand that they would want him to try & pass it on his own but to suffer 3 weeks & try to carry a job & his home life thru being on those pain meds...almost seems crazy, doesn't it? It surely wasn't what we thought we'd hear today but guess that's how it goes.
ETA: If your reading this I just wanted to let you know that Shawn just came to me after doing more reading & had decided to give the meds from the Urologist a try! Alot of people had great success and passed their kidney stones within 48-72 hours after starting the meds. I feel it's worth a try! Yeahhhhh!!
I'll keep ya posted on Shawn, ok? :)
So, 12 hours later I am finding my way over to the blog to get it updated!! My card as I have said was done with combining 2 challenges, the SCS Sketch Challenge & the Color Throwdown's Challenge. The sketch & the color challenges are listed below.....then my sample. Take a peek!

Sketch Challenge 239 & CTD #53 Card:

Color Challenge 229

Hi Everyone! Hope your having a great day so far!
Before I get to my card, I wanted to thank you all for the well wishes for Shawn. He had a good nite's sleep last nite then this morning he had to go have a CAT Scan done. We weren't suppose to hear anything back from the Dr until tomorrow but a surprize call came from him before lunchtime. Yeppers, the man got a nice sized stone in his ureter and it's lookin doubtful that he will pass that measure of a stone. So, now to go see a Urologist ASAP! Hopefully, before the day is over we will know more. I will keep you updated, ok?
I had a few minutes this morning to go check out the SCS Color Challenge. The colors are: Certainly Celery, Apricot Appeal & Pixie Pink. Ya know what.....I like'em!

Mojo Monday #97 & A Sick Buppie

Happy Monday Everyone!
What a busy day here again!! The contractors were here at 7 am this morning to start ripping off our roof. By 1pm the roof was completely done! It looks pretty sharp with the new color of siding! I likes it alot!! :)
Then today Shawn was home again. His kidneys are really bothering him. Up all nite pretty much in pain so off to the Dr. he went this morning. He got a script for some pain meds and has to go have a CAT Scan done tomorrow morning to see where to stone is, the size and next step on what should be done. Again, not sure what to expect there but if he keeps drinking ice tea he will always be plagued with kidney stones...and he knows it!
So, while he was napping on the couch before his appt this morning I went and made a card for him with today's Mojo Monday Sketch #97. I loved this layout and it worked perfectly for my card. I didn't give him the card yet, probably will at supper time. I'm sure he will like it...he usually does! :) Below is the sketch....take a peek!!

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic Markers, Basic Black

Around noon he finally passed a small piece of sand and felt better but his kidneys are still aching. We know he has a large stone in there somewhere so just to see what's going on....Monday he will go see the doctor. Not sure what to expect there.
So, today I was up way too early but I just couldn't find a comfortable spot in bed. I got up and got right to work on my Our Creative Corner Challenge card. Mojo Sketch #96

Hi there! Happy Tuesday! Hope your all doing well.
It was a wonderful weekend here! We did some running around on Saturday then headed off to the movies to see the newest addition to the Harry Potter movies. I thought it was very good and now i'm anxious to see the next one! Sunday, Shawn & I spent the day poolside with our neighbors, Deb & Ed. It was wonderful to relax & unwind on such a beautiful day. God knows we really needed that but we got sunburnt too in which we didn't need! lol
So, today is another day but not just a normal regular day, it's Shawn & I's 19th wedding anniversary. I haven't sat at my stamp table in days so I thought i'd better get it in gear and get him a card made! I went to the Mojo Monday Blog and gathered up the sketch for the week. Down below is the layout...take a peek!

I was kinda leaning towards something not so girl-ish but I failed on that one. I had to wait until I gave the card to Shawn because he checks my blog a hundred times a day and of course, I didn't wanna ruin the surprize! lol He loved the card and proudly displayed it on his desk then gave me a big smooch. hehe Then very quickly we had to make a run to the bank with 10 mins left until they closed. I jumped in the car and there on my seat was a huge basket of stuff that he went to Micheal's and purchased for me after work. There was a candle & fancy decorative stones on a glass plate........and.........lots of stamping supplies!! Girl's you would be ever so proud of all the stuff he bought! :) Punches, Mono Adhesives, Dimensionals, EK Success Punch, 3 different types of brads, and a $25 Micheal's gift card!! WooHoo!! He's a keeper for sure!
Thank you so much for my basket of goodies! I lubs it!!

Just Checking In....

Hi there!
I wanted to just check in with my everyday readers to let them know i'm still here & everything is ok. I have nothing stamp related to share with you but I wanted to show you what's been going on at my house this week. Take a peek....

The contractors finally started working on the house on Wednesday and it's been very noisey here! Thank God Kelsey took everything off the walls because if not, I would have stuff lying on the floor...probably broken! What you see in the pics is how my house is gonna look now all weekend! I'm not real happy about that but what can I do. We are having a July 4th get together Saturday and my house is a wreck...inside & out! *sigh* Oh well, the neighbor across the street is also having his house residing this week too! Before too long, the entire neighborhood will look totally different. :)
So, hopefully tomorrow in amungst all the craziness I can find some time to stamp a bit. I'm feeling like some stamp therapy is in order! :)
Thanks for checking in! ~Wendy
