Scioween Event 2009

Happy Sunday Everyone!
Hope your all having a relaxing day! My gang has helped me do alittle cleaning around here since it's kinda showery one minute & sunny the next. LOL Right now i'm taking a break before heading up to run the sweeper. I don't have anything stamp related to share today but for now I wanted to share the flyer for a Scion event coming up that Shawn got together on behalf of the York Chapter of Scikotics, Scion of York & The York Food Bank. This is a charity event to help support our local food bank which really needs help durning these rough economic times. If you know anyone that has a show car (doesn't have to be a Scion/Toyota) or just a lover of cars, please pass this flyer along. I am really hoping we have terrific weather this day for a wonderful turn out to give something back to the community. Everyone is welcomed!

Just Playing...

Hello & Happy Saturday! Yipppee, the weekend is here!
Yesterday, I spent all day rearranging & getting my card rack prepared for the craft show which I know is 2 months away but I needed to do inventory of what I needed to put on the rack and also make sure all my cards are fully finished, inside & out. I found many cards thru that process that needed mostly inside sentiments. I have a few wedding & Christmas cards yet that i'd like to get on there before taking it to the farm.
After that, I moved on to rooting thru my image box and seeing what I had in there that needed some ink. Low and behold I found this Tilda image and decided to color her for fun. Coloring her turned into making the whole card except for adding the inside sentiment. I finished that first thing this morning, Isn't she sooo cute!

Your Sweet Card:
Stamps: Tilda w/Tulips by Magnolia, Sentiment from Mini Mates
Ink: Palette Noir Black, Copic Markers
Cardstock: Regal Rose, Kiwi Kiss, GP White, Lemonade DSP by Basic Grey
Accessories: Circle & Circle Scalloped Nestabilities, Prima Flowers, Kiwi Corduroy Button, White Sheer Polka Dot Ribbon, Circle Punches, 2 Sided Tape, Dimensionals
I'm off to get my day started, finally! We're taking Kels & Karie to the movies to see Fame this afternoon then Shawn & I have a date with the Scion gang over at Shady Maple for dinner. Then...LOL We're hanging out with Ryan & the neighbors to watch the Penn State football game here! Busy day ahead so i'd better go!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great weekend!

Autumn Wreath

Hello & Happy Thursday to ya!
Today I didn't feel like participating in any challenges and wanted to do some stamping for myself. I borrowed a boatload of stamp sets from Deb K. the other day and wanted to get some Fall cards made. I borrowed her beloved Autumn Days set and I seen so many people lately making these wreath cards. My stamping friend, LeAnne, recently made one and I fell in love with it! So, here is my take on a wreath card for Fall.

Autumn Wreath Card:
Stamps: Autumn Days, Warmest Regards
Ink: Old Olive, Ruby Red, More Mustard, Basic Black
Cardstock: Ruby Red, More Mustard, Old Olive, SU WW, Autumn Traditions DSP
Accessories: Cuttlebug w/Houndstooth Embossing Folder, Circle & Scallop Circle Nestabities, Tag Nestabilities, Gold Brads, Gold Ribbon from PTI, 2 Sided Tape
I'm really happy with this! It's alittle hard to keep the leaf in a perfect circle as your stamping in different colors but it all looks great when it's done! Thanks LeAnne for sharing your idea! :)
Well, that's all I have for today! Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

Sorry for the dark pictures. I put it off all day to take my photos because Kelsey was home from school sick and then I got Fluffy in the tub and gave her a good bath. Till I got them taken it was already dark out. Kelsey has the sinus thing going on which isn't any surprize. She always seems to have a cold in the month of September for as long as I can remember. She said so many kids at school are sick right now. I guess it's that time of year, huh?
Well, i'm in the midst of watching Dancing With the Stars at the moment so I am gonna go finish and head to bed.
Thanks for stopping by and i'll see ya tomorrow!

Hello & Happy Tuesday!
Today's colors from the SCS Color Challenge are: Soft Suede, Pretty In Pink & Whisper White. As soon as I seen this posted this morning by Betty Wright, I knew exactly what I wanted to make...just took me half the day to get motivated to make it! LOL
Nothing fancy but I do love these colors!

Yesterday, I know my blog sat empty. I finished up some housework which is always fun (not)! After that I pretty much just vegged out in front of the tv most of the day. I could hardly keep my eyes open for some reason. Right before bed last nite we learned that Patrick Swayze had passed away. Wasn't he just fine in Dirty Dancin' (one of my all time FAV movies)! How sad.
Well, I need to go get supper started. Thank you for stopping by!
Have a great day!

Featured Stamper 136~ Shannon Steubner!!

Good Morning & Happy Sunday!!
Today, I thought i'd better get my butt out of bed atleast somewhat early so I could get my blog updated then we have the fun task of closing the pool. Yep, summer offically ends today here at my house and since no one has used the pool since last weekend, it's time to close it up for another season. It's sorta sad because you know down the road cold, freezing weather is bound to come and no one wants that!
So, I got my pot of coffee brewing and came down to my stamp room to check out who the Featured Stamper was today. I usually do this challenge but the last few weeks I have not. Since I had nothing stamp related to share I thought I would participate. Today's Featured Stamper is Shannon Steubner. I know her work from SCS and she has a terrific gallery full of cuuuuute stuff! This is the card of hers I chose to case:
Take a look....

When we do a Featured Stamper case, we have to change 2 things on the card. I changed:
1) cardstock colors
2) used different cuttlebug embossing folder
3) use different stamped images
4) changed my ribbon & added gold brads
Featured Stamper 136 Card:
Stamps: Autumn Days, Impression Obsession
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, GP White
Accessories: Cuttlebug w/ Leafy Branch Embossing Folder, Labels 1 Nestabilities, Chocolate Tafetta, Gold Brads, 2 Sided Tape
I really like this! Congrats Shannon on being this week's Featured Stamper! Enjoy!
Well, that's all I have for today! Off to get the gang moving, have breakfast then get that pool started! Ugh, sounds like fun, huh?
Thanks for stopping by & have a wonderful day!

Limited Supplies Challenge 237

Happy TGIF!!
Today's Limited Supplies Challenge was themed "Opposites" because life has many ups & downs. Here are our limitations:
Use your OLDEST stamp set.Use your NEWEST tool.Use your FAVORITE color combo.Use your LEAST FAVORITE embellishment.
One of my oldest stamp sets is : Grand Cornucopia
One of my newest tool is: Labels 4 Nestabilities
One of my favorite color combo's is: Pumpkin Pie & Chocolate Chip for Fall
And my least favorite embellishment is: 5/8 ribbon! ( I have a really hard time using any ribbon that is wide for some reason and I do not like that it makes the card so bulky.

Limited Supplies Challenge 237 Card:
Stamps: Grand Cornucopia (retired)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic Markers
Cardstock: Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip, GP White, DSP from K&Company
Accessories: Labels 4 Nestabilities, Gold Clip, Golc Brads, Pumpkin Pie Grosgrain, 5/8 Chocolate Chip Grosgrain, Scalloped Edge Punch, 2 Sided Tape, Dimensionals

Well, today Shawn is off. Not sure if we are gonna go do anything or not. It's such a dreary, rainy and I mean pouring buckets kind of day.....that I think I just wanna crawl back under the covers and snooze the day away! LOL Doubtful that will happen but sounds good though, right?!! :)
Anyways, thanks for stopping by! Hope you like my card today! Have a great day!!

Ways To Use It Challenge 235

Good Morning & Happy Thursday!
Today's Ways To Use It Challenge required us to use the color "red". I think I can handle that! :)
So, as I was reading the challenge I heard a noise over on my stamp shelf. Wouldn't ya know, it was Dasher over there jumping around letting me know he wanted to be inked today! Darn reindeer! LOL I grabbed him down and inked him in Soft Suede then matched it with my Christmas Cocoa Specialty Paper! I love this paper! :) Then I added some Micheal's polka dot grosgrain, a gold circle clip & brads and adhered it all together. Another card made for Christmas! :)
Take a look!

Mojo Monday Sketch #103...on Tuesday!

Hi again!
I'm alittle late on doing the Mojo Challenge so below is the sketch and then my card samples. Take a look...

Again, I decided to use the sketch challenge to make another Halloween card for my card rack. I found in my Image Box these Witches Shoes from Stampendous. I colored them in then colored a 2nd image and cut them out. I popped them up with dimensionals on top of the first image. I used some retired Stampin Up DSP for this. I'm trying to use up all my old stuff but I really like this paper & the design on it. I stamped my sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black and punched it out with the Modern Label Punch and attached it to the card with some black brads. The pumpkin pie cardstock under the main image was run thru the Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots Embossing Folder. Lastly, I added 2 black brads to the main image, popped it up with dimensionals and threw on some Vintage Violet Grosgrain from a few years back. Hope ya like!
Mojo Monday Sketch #103 Card:
Stamps: Witches Shoes from Stampendous, Sentiment from All Holidays
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic Markers
Cardstock: Vintage Violet, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Halloween Night DSP (retired), GP White
Accessories: Cuttlebug w/Swiss Dots Embossing Folder, Vintage Violet Grosgrain, Black Brads, Modern Label Punch, 2 Sided Tape, Dimensionals

Limited Supplies Challenge 236

Happy TGIF!! Yipppeee, the weekend is here!
Yesterday, I took the day off from blogging to celebrate my birthday! I had a great day and got lots of cool presents & cards from family & friends. I will share those in the coming days but in the meantime i'd like to say how thankful I am to everyone who took the time to send cards and special birthday greetings! Each one made my day! Thank you so much! :)
So, today I had to get back to my stamping table to make something for today's Limited Supplies Challenge. Have you ever heard of "Scraplings"?? No? Well, neither did I! LOL Turns out they are a scrap of paper left over from making a 4 X 4 sized card. The size of the scrapling is 4 X 1.5 and really made me think of what I could do with this. After a few mess up's this is what I made. Take a look below....

Again I have to apologize for the pics not being so clear. It's alittle breezy outside today and my card kept wanting to blow off the deck railing so I hurried up and tried to grab quick pics.
What do you think of my "scrapling"? I think I like it. I'm thinking of using mine as a tag on a gift bag since I have a quite a few birthday's coming up. I will decorate the bag to coordinate with the tag. :)
Limited Supplies Challenge 236 Card:
Stamps: Amazing to Zany (retired)
Ink: Bermuda Bay
Cardstock: PTI Select White, Thoroughly Modern DSP

Well, that's all I have for today! Thanks so much for stopping by!
Happy Labor Day!
