Just Checking In....

Hi there!
I wanted to just check in with my everyday readers to let them know i'm still here & everything is ok. I have nothing stamp related to share with you but I wanted to show you what's been going on at my house this week. Take a peek....

The contractors finally started working on the house on Wednesday and it's been very noisey here! Thank God Kelsey took everything off the walls because if not, I would have stuff lying on the floor...probably broken! What you see in the pics is how my house is gonna look now all weekend! I'm not real happy about that but what can I do. We are having a July 4th get together Saturday and my house is a wreck...inside & out! *sigh* Oh well, the neighbor across the street is also having his house residing this week too! Before too long, the entire neighborhood will look totally different. :)
So, hopefully tomorrow in amungst all the craziness I can find some time to stamp a bit. I'm feeling like some stamp therapy is in order! :)
Thanks for checking in! ~Wendy

Strawberry Jam...

Hello! Happy Monday!
Today I didn't participate in any challenges as of yet but wanted to share with you what I did over the weekend. I made a batch of strawberry jam and really wanted to fancy up the jar a bit. I went thru my image box and found a bunch of these Lockhart Strawberry images. I colored them with my Copic Markers, cut them out with my circle Nestabilities and adhered them on to my jars with a belly band. I punched the belly band with the SU Eyelet Border punch because I think it punches so nicely! I'm happy to say that the jam is very yummy and i'm lovin' my altered jars! Hope you like as well! Take a peek....

Featured Stamper 125~ Dawn Lusk

Hi there!

I was finally able to get on to SCS and check out today's Featured Stamper, DawnL. I know her from all her fabulous artwork but mostly because she raises llama's!! Most people know I have a special friend who has llama's as well and Shawn & I just love'em! So, as I searched her ENTIRE gallery this afternoon, I found this card of Dawn's that I chose to case: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1045013?cat=500&ppuser=19913

I don't know who the maker of that llama stamp is but it's really cool! So, I pretty much made the same card with a few little tweeks & a different llama image.

Things I changed:

1) llama image is different
2) changed cardstock colors
3) added ribbon, brads & a button
4) Used a different Cuttlebug folder

Featured Stamper 125~DawnL :

Stamps: unknown llama stamp
Ink: Creamy Caramel
Cardstock: Bashful Blue, Creamy Caramel. Baroque Burgundy, GP White
Accessories: Cuttlebug w/Swiss Dots & Distressed Lines Embossing Folders, Gold Brads, Gingham Ribbon, Vintage Button, Linen Thread, 2 Sided Tape

Hope ya like!!

Well, that's all for today!!! Time to go relax & watch some tv before bed! See ya tomorrow!

Thank You Gift....

Happy Sunday!
This morning I tried several times to get over to SCS to go thru the Featured Stamper's gallery but SCS was down or atleast I was unable to connect to it so I will try again later! But for now I have something that I will share with you. I made this last week for a Thank You gift for a friend. I got this Lockhart Petunia Flower Pot stamp a few weeks ago and knew exactly what I wanted to do with it! First, I had to go in search of some pretty petunia's, then I got started on making my little sign to place in the pot. I stamped my images in Memento ink, colored with Copic Markers and adhered them onto some wooden skewers. My sign is double sided. Then I added my sentiment and a piece of purple gingham ribbon from my stash. The little purple jewel is from Micheal's in one of those dollar packs added for extra sparkle! I really liked this....almost hated to give it away but I know it went to a good home! I might have to make a few of these for myself since my deck has quite a few pots of red & white petunia's this year! :)
Take a peek and let me know what ya think, ok?

Flower Pot Petunia's:

Stamps: Petunia's & Sentiment from Lockhart
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic Markers
Cardstock: Almost Amethyst, PTI Select White
Accessories: Gingham Ribbon, $1 Jewel from Micheal's, 2 Sided Tape, Wooden Skewers

Well, that's all I have for now! I will be back later with my Featured Stamper project if & when I can get on SCS. Thanks for stopping by!

A Special Sympathy...

Hello! Happy Thursday Everyone!
Today I am feeling a bit under the weather for some reason but really needed to get a special sympathy card made for my friend, stampin buddy & neighbor, Emily. Her father in law passed away Tuesday nite and they rushed home first thing Wednesday morning. Her father in law was a hunter & a fisherman. He loved anything related to the outdoors! So, Deb K. shared her new SU stamp set with me called Autumn Days. I decided to try making a sympathy card with it and surprizingly, I love the results! I also used some new In Colors cardstocks as well. Take a peek....

I wanted something simple and not too fancied up. I hope I accomplished that!

Accessories: Cuttlebug w/Swiss Dots Embossing Folder, Top Note Die, Soft Sueded Grosgrain, Gold Brads, Stamp A Ma Jig, Dimensionals, 2 Sided Tape
