Ways To Use It Challenge 243 & Thanksgiving Thursday Week #1

Hello & Happy Thursday!
Today I played along with the Ways To Use It Challenge from over at SCS. We were challenged to use stickers of any kind to make holiday card making go much faster. Since I don't have any holiday stickers I used some rub ons that I just recently picked up at Micheal's. I used this challenge to create a gift card holder for Christmas. Take a peek...

I cut my snowman rub on out with my circle nestabilities and layerd it onto a red scalloped circle. I used a piece of last years dsp from SU on the backside of the card holder. The front has a piece of Bashful Blue ran thru the Cuttlebug with the Snow Dots Embossing Folder. I put a belly band completely around my gift card which slides on & off. The snowman is popped up with dimensionals.
Ways To Use It Challenge 243 Card:
Stamps: Sentiment from Savvy Stamps
Ink: Real Red
Cardstock: Real Red, Bashful Blue, SU WW, Frosty Days DSP
Accessories: Circle & Circle Scalloped Nestabilities, Cuttlebug w/ Snow Dots Embossing Folder, Rub Ons, Martha Stewart Doily Punch, Felt Snowflake w/Glittered Brad, Bashful Blue Grosgrain, Glue Dots, 2 Sided Tape, Dimensionals

Last year I did a personal challenge here on my blog to make Thanksgiving cards and post them on each Thursday in November leading up to Thanksgiving Day. With the holiday coming fast this was a way for me to make sure I had some Thanksgiving cards prepared to send out because this holiday always gets lost in the hussle & bussle of things! So, again this year I am gonna do the same thing because it truely worked out wonderful for me & I was able to get those cards sent in a timely manner.

Here is week #1's Thanksgiving Card....

I know that picture is pretty bright. Since the time change it gets pretty dark in my stamp room early on so I was fooling around with some of the settings in my photo program and i'm not real sure I like this. Maybe tomorrow I will try for another picture.
So, hope you all had a spooky Halloween. We did much of nothing Saturday. I spent all day in my stamp room working on some things for my craft show and I mean all day. From 10 am till 11pm! It rained so we weren't even sure they had Trick or Treat nite. Shawn laid around most of the day still fighting off his flu/cold.
Sunday we had a Toys 4 Tots Run with the Scion gang over in Reading which we attended. I haven't mentioned about last weekends car show in York that Shawn put together for Scikotics. Although he was sick as a dog, running around with a fever, there was no way he could not be there. We had a beautiful day weather wise and a terrific turn out! Alot of our neighboring Scikotics chapters came to support us. We raised $500 & a boatload of food for the York Food Bank here in York County! Scion of York left us use their parking lot for our show and got us a DJ & purchased the trophies for the show. They were happy with the turnout and would like to do it again next year!! It was a wonderful day for a wonderful cause and we'd like to say Thank You to all who helped & participated. We could not have done it without you!! And next year, Shawn, you better not be sick!! :)
And now I'd like to Thank LeAnne Pugliese for sending me this adorable Halloween RAK that arrived on Saturday. I'll tell ya, there is so much to look at on this card! Lots of glitter & the inside is beautifully decorated too. Thank you for thinking of me, girl! You made my day!! :)

Well folks, Dancin With The Stars is on now so i'm outta here! Thanks for stoping by & have a good nite! ~Wendy

Limited Supplies Challenge 244

Happy TGIF!!
Wow, it's been a long week with everyone here at my house sick. Hopefully we're on the mend. Today's Ways To Use It Challenge was themed: "What's Your Weather"? Well, since Trick or Treat nite is tomorrow I thought i'd make a Halloween card and share with you what the weather man is calling for here. As of this morning it's suppose to be partly cloudy with a chance of showers but it should stay dry for the trick or treaters to make their way around. I had to think long & hard on this challenge! I came up with a few stamps from in my stash that I think worked out well. Take a peek...

Phew, that was alot of work put in this master piece! LOL I stamped & cut out my little booglie eyed trick or treater. Then I stamped the moon w/ clouds stamp. I used my Stamp A Ma Jig to line up the haunted house to get it right under the moon. Colored in the moon & windows of the lite up house (so the trick or treater knew they were handing candy out) then added my little halloweener.
Also in the challenge we had to use the 2 method. 2/2/2 I used 2 different ribbons, 2 different designer papers & 2 stamped bats.
Hope ya like!
Limited Supplies Challenge 244 Card:
Stamps: Moon from Stampscapes, Home Is Where The Haunt Is, Booglie Eyes, Hero Arts Sentiment, Bat from Micheal's $1 Spot
Ink: Memento, Copics, Perfect Plum
Cardstock: Basic Black, GP White, Perfect Plum, Basic Grey Eeerie DSP
Accessories: Modern Label Punch, Gold Clip, Ribbons, Martha Stewart Gooey Drip Punch, Sponge, 2 Sided Tape, Dimensionals

That's all for today, folks! Thanks for stopping by & Happy Halloween!!

Ways To Use It Challenge 242

Hello & Happy Thursday!
Shawn went back to work today feeling much better but he said he's tired after a busy work day. I'm hanging in there....still coughing but i'm sure it will just have to run it's course. I spend the day stamping and wanted to do the Ways To Use It Challenge. It was themed "Purple Pretties" which ment to use any color of purple on our projects. Since I already had these Whipper Snapper penguins stamped out, I went ahead and colored the hat & scarf purple.
Take a look...

I found the paper in my stash from many years ago. I'm not sure who the maker is. The wide ribbon was also in my ribbon stash brand new, never used. Then I found the felt snowflakes in my snowflake baggie. The rest just fell into place and I love when that happens!
Ways To Use It Challenge 242 Card:
Stamps: Holiday Penguin from Whipper Snapper, Sentiment from Warm Words (SU retired)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic Markers
Cardstock: Almost Amethyst, PTI Select White, unknown DSP
Accessories: Cuttlebug w/Snowflakes Embossing Folder, Square & Square Scalloped Nestabilities, Lg Oval & Scalloped Oval Punch, Felt Snowflake & Brad, Glue Pen, Glitter, 2 Sided Tape, Dimensionals
That's all I have for today! Thank you for stopping by!

Sketch Challenge 252

Good Morning & Happy Wednesday!
It was pouring buckets out this morning when Kelsey left for school. Seems like that's all it does here anymore. I know I shouldn't complain but some sunshine would be nice! :) Shawn is still home. I thought for sure he'd go back to work today. I'm feeling pretty good except for those coughing fits that come on every now & then. Still taking the cough syrup though to help. I hate being sick!
I woke up this morning ready to roll so I popped down to my stamp room and got started on the Sketch Challenge from over at SCS. Below is the layout and my samples. Take a look...

I'm still making cards for on my card rack for the show and felt the need to use this adorable polar bear from Whipper Snapper today. I colored the image with Copics and added some glitter to his scarf & the ball on his hat. The ground also has glitter on it. I added some Sakura Black Glaze Pen to his nose to give it that wet look. The paper is from Pebbles Inc.
Sketch Challenge 252 Card:
Stamps: Bear from Whipper Snapper
Ink: Memento, Copics
Cardstock: Night of Navy, PTI Select White, DSP from Pebbles Inc.
Accessories: Felt Snowflake w/Glittered Brad, Glue Dots, Navy Grosgrain, Glue Pen, Glitter, 2 Sided Tape, Dimensionals
Well, i'm off to lay down a bit. I'm trying to get plenty of fluids & rest so I can shake this. Thanks for stopping by & enjoy the day! ~Wendy

Halloween RAK & CC242

Good Tuesday Evening!
I made my way in to the stamp room alittle bit ago so I could participate in today's Color Challenge 242. Before I get to that I wanted to share a Halloween RAK that came in the mail yesterday from my friend, Denise Marzec. What a spooky surprize! This card is so cool and I love the little purple jewels and that fabulous bow! Thanks so much, Denise! I love it, girl!

The colors for today's Color Challenge over at SCS are: Basic Black, Kraft & Melon Mambo. I love these colors so that's why I wanted to participate. Below is my sample.

I used my White Craft pad to stamp the snowflakes on the Kraft cardstock. Then I sponged the edge of the Kraft the whole way around with the White ink. I ran the Melon Mambo piece thru the Cuttlebug with the Snowflakes Embossing Folder and sanded that for a lighter look. I stamped my main snowflake in Melon Mambo ink onto PaperTrey Ink Select White cardstock and cut it out with the small circle Nestabilities. I layered that on a piece of black cardstock that was run thru the Cuttlebug with the Scalloped Circle Nestabilities. My sentiment was made with the Tags Nestabilities and placed on with Melon Mambo Grosgrain. I topped it off by adding some $1 bling from Micheal's to the center of the snowflake and popping up my image with dimensionals. There ya have it! :)
Well, Biggest Loser is on so i'm gonna go crawl on the couch and watch. Thanks for stopping by!

Stamp Nite w/ The Girls & The BUG!

Hello!
I just wanted to let you know that i've picked up the bug that has been flying threw my house the last week & a half. I was trying really hard NOT to pick it up by washing my hands more, cleaning doorknobs with Clorox wipes, spraying Lysol and drinking the Airborne stuff but all has failed and well, I don't think I have the flu but a terrible cough & stuffy nose. I started yesterday after getting my hair done. Last nite I started taking cough syrup with codiene & Nyquil and I think it's helping. I slept all nite & all day today. I actually feel like going in my stamp room and playing but I think maybe I shouldn't push it. Shawn is still home but I think he's getting better slowly. He still has that awful cough. OK cold germs....it's time to LEAVE!
I do have some pics to share with you from my Friday nite stamp girls get together. We were missing 2 girls, Nan & Karen, and hope next time they can make it.
The girls from left to right are:
Deb K., Cinda, Deb R., me and Ms Emily.

We had such a good time! It's always fun to sit & stamp with them and just laugh the nite away. Thanks ladies for coming!
Well, that's all I have for now. I hope to be back tomorrow! Till then..
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

Homecoming 2009

Hey there!
I'm back real quick to share the pictures of Kelsey for Homecoming today. Can you believe of all days...it poured buckets!! Thankfully, Kerri & Kelsey's hair do's both stayed beautiful. Kudo's to Kathy for doing an incredible job on it! I however did not get my hair done yet another day. LOL Kathy took her time on doing Kerri's hair because it's so long & thick and time was running out to get these girls to their dinner reservations so I just made my appt on Monday morning. What's another day or 2 of gray hair! LOL
So, we had a photo session in the dining room before heading out the door. At first I wasn't real thrilled with Kelsey's dress but once her hair & shoes & of course all the accessories were on, she looked beautiful. I just love seeing her all dressed up like this! :)
Kerri looked so pretty too! I'm sure her mom was looking down from heaven smiling & crying at the same time over how beautiful she looked. Hard to believe that next year will be there last Homecoming for High School. They've been friends since grade school.
Take a look....
Kelsey...

Her dress came from Macy's. Can you believe earlier this week she had the flu???

Both of my daughters...Kirsten & Kelsey

Kelsey & Kerri

I just got Shawn tucked into bed. He woke up this morning with the FLU! Ughhh! The Dr's were so booked with flu patients they were not able to get him in but told him lots of fluids, rest & advil. I have the vaporizer running to help his cough and I am praying for a miracle that he feels better tomorrow. Afterall, tomorrow is his SCIOWEEN Car Show event in York to benefit the York Food Bank. Please pray & keep him in your thoughts for a speedy recovery.

Well, Ryan just came home so I am gonna go check on him and anxiously await Kelsey to get home to hear about her nite!
See ya tomorrow! ~Wendy

Crazy 4 Challenges #8

Happy Saturday!
This morning i'm getting an early start because I know it's gonna be a crazy day to say the least. First I wanna share with you my Crazy 4 Challenges card. The challenge was to use 3 different shapes on your project. I used ovals, circles & rectangles. I also used a digi download from Verve Stamps for my card. Take a look...

My pics seem alittle wonky today, unless it's just me. It's windy, cloudy and dreary here this morning so the pics are alittle dreary like the weather. It's also Homecoming Day here for Kelsey. I finally got her back to school yesterday...in the nick of time so she could participate in Homecoming tonight. The Dr diagnosed her with the flu on Wednesday and she was not allowed to return to school until Friday or even Monday if need be. By Thursday she seemed to be perking up and was able to return on Friday but he gave her stiff stipulations on going back. So, this morning I am off to Kathy's to get my hair highlighted. I canceled the other nite because I was under the weather. After my hair is done, Kelsey & her friend Kerri are next up for updo's for their evening out. I will have lots of pics to share later so make sure you check back!!
Crazy 4 Challenges #8 Card:
Stamps: Free Digi Download from Verve Stamps
Ink: Copic Markers
Cardstock: Taken w/Teal, Sahara Sand, GP White
Accessories: Cuttlebug w/Swiss Dots Embossing Folder, Nestabilities-Oval & Oval Scalloped, Circle, Rectangles & Rectangles Scalloped, Heidi Swapp Ghost Snowflake, Micheal's $1 Bling, White Taffeta Ribbon, Glue Dots, 2 Sided Tape, Dimensionals
Off now to get the gang moving! Thanks for stopping by!
Happy Saturday!

Mojo Monday #109 & Color Challenge 241

Hi there!
Sorry I haven't been around much. I have had a sick kiddo since Saturday and hubby & I have both been dealing with sore throats. Ohh the joys of cooler weather!
Anyways, today while Kelsey was sleeping I came down to my stamp room and worked on combining 2 challenges, the Mojo Monday Sketch 109 & the Color Challenge 241 from over at SCS. The colors are: Bravo Burgundy, Cameo Coral, Very Vanilla and an optional color, Always Artichoke. Since I am still in need of some teen girl cards for the card rack for the show so I grabbed this image that Tammi graciously sent me. Thank you!! I am not up to date on all the stamp companies out there but I believe it's an image from The Greeting Farm. If i'm wrong please correct me. :) I wasn't real keen on these colors but this is what I came up with.
Take a look below for the sketch layout & my card samples...

Mojo Monday #109 & Color Challenge 241 Card:
